Over the last 20 years, MTV Europe, Charles Saatchi as well as many SMEs and charities within the food and travel, arts and fashion sectors have been attracted by my cross-platform skills that engage online communities and serve at the heart of social media conversations and campaigns. What are these skills? Colourful copy, organic SEO copywriting, strategic content curation, photography, multi-media editing and analytical skills.

Getty Images invited me to be a contributor in 2012. I am proficient in Photoshop & Movie Maker and WordPress and Drupal content management systems.

Whilst on maternity leave (Sept 2011-Sept 2013) I successfully created the social enterprise blogAway, to promote tourism to little-known locations via travel, food and wine blogging weekends. The second stage to the successful Let’s Blog Abruzzo was the June 21st 2014 launch of the Abruzzo Blogger Community project and regional blog awards.

ART FOR L’AQUILA AUCTION – London, UK
Online consultancy to the creators of the project the ART Minerva team, securing Bloomsbury Auctions to manage, promote and validate the sale. Working with Jack Vettriano, creator of the best-selling print within the UK, the Singing Butler, to donate a unique artwork to the auction. Project management of the online catalogue.
Following the L’Aquila earthquake in April 2009 I worked for free with the co-founders of Art Minerva to create a charity art auction hosted by the Italian Cultural Institute with proceeds to be donated to restoring Santa Maria del Suffragio.
BREAKING BREAD IN L’AQUILA – New York, USA
Online consultancy to the author Maria Filice. Creation and promotion of a book launch event in Abruzzo at Sextantio to launch the cookbook. Working with i-italy despite being a non-American to promote the book and thereby raise funds.
Breaking Bread in L’Aquila was an Italian cookbook launched at the time of the earthquake. I worked with the author for free on learning that its proceeds would be donated to create a children’s playground that had been lost at an infant school in Rocca di Mezzo.

blogAway & ABRUZZO BLOGGER COMMUNITY CO-FOUNDER, UK & ITALY
Co-founder and primary organiser of blogAway.org, a social enterprise for successfully creating Italy’s first English-language travel, food & wine bloggers’ conference, Let’sBlogAbruzzo.
The event attracted international bloggers from as far afield as Adelaide and New York and 91.2% of attendees rated it as either “excellent“ or “very good” via SurveyMonkey. It was the first blogging conference to be listed as a “must attend” event by Gambero Rosso, Italy’s leading gastronomic guide.
Part II of the initiative was the creation and launch on 21st June 2014 of the AbruzzoBloggerCommunity and the rollout of its annual ‘Red Gold’ blog awards and the creation of the campaign #PutAbruzzoOnTheMap
- Developed and produced programme for the event to best meet needs of attendees and speakers
- Conceptualised and directly managed the online representation of the event, via purpose-built websites, partner sites and social media
- Created editorial calendar for digital content; roll-out and lifecycle management of said content (analysing, planning, writing, editing, distributing, managing and monitoring)
- Engaged and created conversations with individuals and communities to help build presence across all social media platforms and post event on private Let’s Blog Abruzzo Google + page
- Targeted and built relationships with sector-specific & qualified 3rd party, high-quality leads to direct traffic to the event website
- Negotiated and delivered endorsement from relevant associations such as National Italian American Foundation, Slow Tourism Italia, I Borghi più Belli d’Italia and Associazione Borghi Authentica d’Italia and i-italy
- Audited charities/community causes applying to receive profits donated from the event
- Built tiered sponsor propositions
- Sourced and facilitated international sponsors including the local Region through its Tourist Board, and Italy’s 2nd largest vineyard Cantina Tollo
- Created a social media photography competition, “‘The Real Italia” utilising Offerpop that received more than 40 entries and some 4000 votes
- Designed and managed 4 blogging trips and tours with local sponsors pre & post the event for attendees
- Wrote tailored press releases for traditional and digital media including for sponsor Cantina Tollo.
- Established press partnerships, including with regional newspaper Il Centro
- Shortlisted international speakers, from renowned bloggers, photographers and marketing gurus to internationally respected journalists such as the BBC’s Vatican Correspondent David Willey OBE
- Built and disseminated questionnaire on SurveyMonkey to extract and anticipate attendees’ skill/knowledge levels
- Provided support and check presentations where necessary for Italian speakers
- Created KPI audit and feedback of the event
